Estate and Trust Planning and Probate

AHC works with clients at various age, income and net worth levels to address a range of estate planning needs. AHC assists high net worth individuals with comprehensive estate planning services addressing incapacity planning, healthcare decisions, guardianships for minors, estate tax and GST tax planning, gifting and wealth transfer planning, probate streamlining and other needs. High net worth clients may require wills with advanced tax and trust planning, revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, family limited partnerships, international trust planning or other estate planning techniques, and AHC can guide clients through the planning and documentation process every step of the way.

But estate planning is not just for the ultra-rich; it is intended to establish a plan to care for one’s most valuable assets, one’s family, in the event of a person’s incapacity or death. Very often, people without a substantial net worth will avoid or delay estate planning because they consider it prohibitively expensive or largely unnecessary given the value of their assets. In reality, though, anyone with a child should seriously consider a foundational estate plan including a will and certain other standard estate planning documents. For this reason, AHC provides a range of foundational estate planning services to clients whose new marriages or children make estate planning a very valuable and important responsibility. AHC makes every effort to offer these services at a price range to make foundational estate planning more available and affordable to those who need it. Whether you are a high net worth individual or a young married couple expecting your first child, all AHC’s estate planning services will provide ancillary estate planning documents including: durable powers of attorney for financial and health care matters, Georgia Advance Medical Directives, and HIPPA authorizations.

AHC also works with clients who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend and need assistance with the administration of the deceased person’s estate, a process commonly known as the “probate process”. The probate process involves the administration of a deceased person’s estate in accordance with his or her valid Last Will and Testament, Trust or, in the absence of a Will or Trust, in accordance with the state laws of intestacy.
